What exact memory for a Gigabyte X48-DQ6 MB?

I have read there are some memory problems with X48 motherboards and Gigabytes? approved memory list is far from complete.

I plan to put a E8400 into it and 4 gigabytes of ram. Any confirmed memory (brand and model #) for a X48-DQ6 motherboard?

Why an X48 ???

What resolution monitor, and Video Card Combination are you intending to run ?

Initially 1680X1050. Probably go higher in near future. I'll start with a single card ATI, 4870 likely. I want an X48 motherboard for full ability to go Crossfire (recent test shows it outperforms a P45 noticeably in Crossfire.)

My concern is that some reviews on Newegg indicate some memory incompatibility issues. I checked Gigabytes website for the approved memory listing and it does not list many and states it is an old list and is not complete (it mostly lists 512 and 1 megabyte modules.)

All descriptions of the Gigabyte board indicate 1.8 volt ram. If I stick with tested 1.8 volt DDR2800 should it be fine?

Yeah either the GSkill or the Mushkin kits have been the best and best reviewed here...

they are all Superchips in the high density Dimms.

Look good:

Mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory 996587, 5-4-4-12, Unbuffered
