AFAIK it's still in the works. It was almost released a few months back, but we wanted to make it better so it went back for another revision. People have been hounding us about it for some time, but I still don't have a release date.

Any news of how these units will handle quadcore?

I keep hearing that even a vapoLS is brought to the mercy of the heat output of the quadcore!

They were intending for it to eventually get down into the $200s range. I certainly wouldn't mind paying $300-$350 for one, though.

And the reason you guys have been getting hounded about this thing is because it could be the sweetest introduction to phase change we've seen in a while. You should be glad there's this much interest ;)

That, plus the fact they intro'd it Feb 06 and stated that it would be out by April 06:(

Glad to hear it may still be on the drawing board. I'd already given up hope and just assumed they had shelved the idea. I have a sneaky suspision that they have been unable to find a way to produce a unit up to their quality standards within the stated price range and still make a reasonable profit. If and when it comes out it will probably be at a higher price point than was originally discussed.

Come on OCZ, prove me wrong!!!! A quality single stage unit in the $250-350 would absolutely rock!! Hell anything under $500 would be better than whats currently available

Exactly...Then if you follow the rule that every drop of 10c in operating temp buys 2-3% performance, imagine what we could be hitting wth our C2Ds and C2Qs

if its <400 it might be tempting to move up from water (depending on what the reviews on the retail units are), though it does mean only the cpu, loose the option of adding blocks for gpu's..., maybe keep a smaller water loop for everything else and have the cpu with this?

The price will not be $200...not sure where they got that price, but it should be under $400

Awesome. Can't wait to see results with some quadcore action.
