I'm using the email program that came with W7 home and I don't like it much. I'm told some email programs dont work with W7. I have used the ones with XP and Vista and liked them better but don't remember the names. Searching the download sites isn't much help. Recommendations please? And why do you like it?

Outlook is hands-down the best, if you want to buy it.

Thunderbird is good too, but doesn't have the Exchange integration that Outlook does. In my experience, the plugins for it are always a hassle because you can't really rely on any of them - half the time they'll never be updated again.

I love thunderbird.. fast and pretty light, customizable and i've moved my installation over many versions and through several computers with no issues.

I don't use Win7, but in Vista I ran Thunderbird. It's libre software, so I never have to worry about my mail being held hostage to a company. Oh, and the stuff Chiefcrow said also :^)

Outlook is overkill at home, so I am on Live Mail. Works well for me. Outlook at work.

I moved from Outlook Express and XP to Outlook 2003 and W7. I don't really care for O'03, but it's better than that Windows Live crap. OE does not work with W7... (BOO!)

I have tried Thunderbird on a trial basis and didn't have much luck with it, but part of that may be user error... ;) I didn't have the time to really go into it and figure it out.

I don't need a bunch of functionality with my email client, just download, read and file my emails across 6 different personal and business accounts. Outlook is working at the moment (after an enormous amount of tweaking.)

I use two - incoming to Eudora Pro and outgoing, Windows Mail (basiclly OE6 carried over from Vista.) I have also used T-Bird, but it falls short in sending embedded background MID music in email. :)

Use Outlook 2007 to pick up all my web emails, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc are set up on it and it works great for me.

Outlook for work/exchange.

At home, I generally just use gmail's webUI. But I have used thunderbird in the past since it can integrate with each piece of gmail via plugins (push imap, contacts, calendar). I actually like Windows Live Mail's UI better, but it doesn't play nice with gmail's contacts or calendars, which is more of a pain than it's worth.
