What email client are you using?

On Mac, I've always used the built in Mail client. But I just recently got MS Office for Mac which includes Outlook so I decided to give it a try. Not really sure which one I like better at this point.

I use Mail almost exclusively. I use Outlook for the occasional instance when I need to access my work email from my personal computer. It's decent enough, but is has far more than I need out of my mail client. Mail is nice and minimalist, and it gets the job done.

I too have Outlook on my Mac, used it once and decided there and then that Mail was the one to use.

I hear Thunderbird is quite a good mail client, never used it though.

Was using Mail.app, but it royally screwed up my Yahoo account's email dates. About 1/4th of my emails had the date I added the account to Mail, making them impossible to search by date. What's worse, it screwed up a number of them for the Yahoo web interface as well.

So I switched to Thunderbird, but unfortunately, it has its own problems. I may switch back to Mail, despite its issues.

I use Mail. I used Thunderbird on Windows, but way more options than I needed. Outlook is the same way, too many settings, rules, and such to set up. For power users, Outlook may be okay. I just need to read and delete email, so Mail is perfect.

mail.app Only problem is occasionally yahoo goes on the fritz and keeps popping up wanting the password re-entered. It's a third tier email for me that gets little use so not a big deal.

I have that for both my University and Yahoo email accounts 😡

I just log onto gmail 😱

I can't stand using gmail on the web. It feels like every time I log in, they've jacked with the layout, or the buttons, or the colors, or who knows what. It gets irritating having to deal with their 'We made wonderful changes!' when all I want to do is just look something up real quick.

Care to elaborate?

Mac mail is slow, horrible and error plagued with no clear error # indication. Entourage has to be the most bloated POS ever created. Outlook 2011 is better but it is still extremely slow and bloated and error prone without clear reasons why. This is all with Exchange email BTW. Pop3 or other emails are not as bad but in my experience most mac email clients are programmed rather poorly and regardless of computer horsepower they run extremely slow and god forbid you dont run the client for more than a couple of days, your email will be even slower.

Huh, I had never really noticed Mail as being slow, it was always pretty snappy for me, but my personal email needs are pretty minimal. So maybe it's a load issue.

That's definitely true with all the new changes recently. But then again, I usually check my mail on my phone (gmail app too)
