What email addresses aren't banned?

I just tried to switch my email profile from my netscape address to a hotmail address and anandtech replied with a ban.
If hotmail.com is banned on anandtech... what free email servers are available?

Well, I'm certainly not going to use my personal email address for the some 12 or 15 forums I subscribe to. If I can't use yahoo or hotmail, what do people recommend?

I don't like using mine either, I'd like to keep it spam free. I just did a quick search maybe something here might help.

This is mostly a semi educated guess and the short version.
They may eventually be banned if posters from there become a problem. Anonymous email addressess are not liked here because there is less accountability.
Say a person who is spamming these forums uses comcast. Spamming is a violation of Anandtech's TOS and they risk having their account closed by their ISP. This is assuming comcast would cooperate with AT. AOL didn't and they can't register here anymore. Also if a person from comcast trolls (rips off) a member on the For/Sale/Trade forum, it would be easier to track that person.
Now we have Hotmail/yahoo/etc.. If they spam or troll there is no way to find/catch them.
IMHO, it is about accountability. I like it when I do trades but I dislike having my "good" email address hanging out there.
 
also, I just checked go.com and it doesn't appear to be pop mail... any good free pop mail that is anandtech sanctioned?

myrealbox.com, best free email I've ever seen, by far (it is run by novell).

If you register with a "free dial-up ISP" they should supply you with a pop e-mail account, although you wont be using their Internet.

Some ISP's will only let you retrieve your pop mail if your connected to the net via them, but there are a lot out there who dont do it like that.

I have my real email adress here and I don't receive any spam in that box. I have used it here and with FW and neither has givin me any spam.
 
i use skatepile.com, it works and it's not bad... im in the military and it passes the filter.. and i skate 😉
