What else should I try before declaring my Sound Blaster dead?

Machine: Abit KX7-333, XP1800+, 512MB Kingmax PC2700, Ati Radeon 64MB VIVO, SB Live! Player 5.1, Realtek network card.
OS: Win2k SP3

I've tried 3 different SB drivers, 2 different VIA 4in1's, I've tried pluggin the cables in every connection the card has, I've tried two different cables, I've tried every available PCI slot... nothing works, I just can't get any sound from it, nothing. There's no hardware conflicts, mixer settings are ok, Windows' audio settings are ok...

Short of testing it with another comp (which I don't have assembled right now) I'm out of ideas. What else can I try?

Make sure digital audio is unchecked in the control panel, otherwise you won't get any sound from it.

You mean the "Digital Output Only" in Advanced Play Control? That's the only reference to digital audio I could find and it is and has always been unchecked.

Please tell that's not what you mean and I can solve this by unchecking some box I haven't noticed ;)

Sorry dude, that is the option I was talking about. :(

Do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard?
Is there a chance you could try a different sound card?
And have you checked all of the volumn and mute settings?

:(

The board came with the latest BIOS (ID: 9K).
I'm supposed to have some (very) old SB somewhere here, but I just can't find it. Oh well, I'll dig up it somewhere tomorrow...
Every time I changed drivers I also checked all the mixer settings, nothing is muted and volume is set to well above middle.
