what else do I need for *.avi, *.mov

sorry bout caps...
downloaded a few "videos", but some just will not play. What else do I need? I want to watch these videos.

well, some *.avi will play sound, no video. Can't play *.mov

Other *.avi will play fine with the diVx playa

Well, some avi's may be playing because you have the correct codec...mov's may not be playing because you don't have Quicktime install. Give more info, then we can help you more.

and you still don't have the right codec for some of those avis

There are 4 different divx codecs out there... I don't know why but some people are encoding in the 3 that aren't very popular... Try finding the other 3...
If all else fails then try playing them in real player, it plays almost all divx files...

Just get a divx codec. I use divx 3.11 alpha. Then use windows media player to play them.

What if the .avi is an Indeo codec? How would DiVX help out on that?

There are more than three codecs, but some are more popular than others.
