What elementary school lunch food do you miss most?

The octagonal taco pizza's... are what I remember.

Nothing else stands out in my memory.

Where my son goes, they "import" pizza from Domino's every Tuesday... so he doesn't get to experience the school pizza's of old.

His loss. 🙂

I had this conversation with a buddy of mine recently.

Here in So Cal, under our wonderful school district, they gave us crap. But the food I loved the most was, pizza bagel, the coffee cake, the burritos wrapped up. They sold chips & salsa that was damn good too. Thats all i remember

Are you serious? You guys are THAT young that you actually remember the food they served you in ELEMENTARY school? :Q

The only thing I remember is my 8th grade teacher....this little 5-foot nothing redhaired bombshell who liked to wear her blouse unbuttoned to the navel and bend over my desk while helping me with my learning.

My God...I used to have a boner for hours...to the point of pain.

Ah, so many good ones rubbed out in her honor.

Oh yeah, your cafeteria thread = fail.

The problem isn't that others are young enough to remember, it's that you're too old not to. 😉

I remember school food as being decent most of the time, though I ended up usually bringing mine. My parents gave me a budget starting in grade school and I had to figure out how to eat within it. I could eat as many school lunches as I could afford, otherwise I'd have to pack my own.

The pizza, chicken patties, and chimichangas were good. The turkey and gravy with mashed potatoes wasn't bad. The Italian dunkers were popular with most kids, basically just cheesy bread with red sauce.

the chicken nuggets were the only thing close to edible.

i guess the rolls were ok.

the rectangular pizza was nasty, especially when served with a side of rice with gravy on it.

Gonna get a breadtangle of pizza! </a>

I'm actually making myself physically ill trying to remember anything decent we might have had served to us.
