I just ordered the Pioneer DVD-105s from www.hypermicro.com
The model is actually a05s because it is the retail version. It was $150 Only one of 2 places on Pricewatch that sold the retail, others just came in a white box.

No you should not need a decoder, you can use software such as WinDVD. What are your system specs?

If you get a Radeon, use the ATi DVD player software that comes with the card. DVD decoding is built in to the Radeon, so getting an extra DVD decoder card would be a waste of money.
