you do realise that you can buy a good book for about 30 or 40 dollars, save the hassle of stripping down your lappy to full economic mode....

You guys do realise that there is such a think as books....?

Books don't play music ;^)

Ok an ipod and a good book?

Yea, maybe. I like the multipurpose nature of a netbook though. You can listen to music, read ebooks, and surf the web. If you're so inclined, work can even be done with them :^D

if you want to listen to music while youre doing stuff on the netbook, thats good. i have a 1000h and a sansa, because using a netbook just to listen to music is a horrible idea.

you wont get anywhere near 13 hours out of that battery, so you just as well plan on a backup. a book, a $20 mp3 player, dolls, whatever.

In the past 4 years I have had several 10-13 hour flights, and never had a problem. Just about all major carriers have power outlets . Just make sure you carry your A/C adapter with some plug adapters.

You do realize some people experience motion sickness when they try to read in something moving?

I guess it depends on what airline. Most of my 13 hour flights are on Lufthansa - they have plugs. So does American and United, and Air Emirates.

You can also carry a spare battery. Try napping for half the time. :)
