The morons who can't read the rules of my auction.

Oh... that one too... I have it stated in mutiple places in all my auctions that I do not ship outside the 48 states under any circumstances, and I only have PayPal as a payment method. So who bids? Some guy from Japan who wants to pay with a money order. ASS!

Did you realize you can limit your bidders?
Buyers in countries to which I don't ship

Buyers without a PayPal account

Both of those are options when listing your item. Now I realize that it doesn't include AK or HI, but it would have helped in the situation you describe.

I find it interesting that many of the things people hate, ebay has features already in place to help with but people aren't using them.

fraud is so rampant on ebay, i have no idea why anyone is using it anymore. it is worse than selling laptops to people in nigeria that are paying with western union

Actually while there is alot of fraud it actually is a low percentage.

Ebay used to be cool as a place for people to sell stuff that they did not want to people who did like a swap meet.

But now egay is a mall.

People who try to pay with credit card paypal when I specified bank-funded only in the auction.

Morons who sell on ebay, which claim to accept paypal, but wont become a paypal member and accept CC. what difference does it make to the seller if the buy pays with bank cash or CC, the money is still the same.

I will gladly give paypal a CC number, which has buyer protection with the ability to dispute charges... I will never give paypal a bank account number. theres no protection.

Paypal personal has a limit of no CC payments, but no fees. Business and Premier accounts may take CC payments, but always have fees... It sucks.

yes... but people who sell frequently or sell large ticket items...
>$35 should buck-up and pay the fee. not everyone has that kind of cash just sitting around... bills get paid first. ebay gets paid at end of month.

So now tack on another 3% in addition to all the other fees? No thanks. Ebay is not my livelihood. The terms are clearly stated in the auction. If you disagree with them, just buy from someone else!

SCRU PAYPAL then
ebay needs to start its own fee free CC. I can buy from you... you get paid... I pay at the end of the month.

half.com used to work that way. Not sure if it still does, but that was great.

There are many things I dislike about using Ebay but the thing that REALLY peaves me these days is Ebay allowing items to be auctioned that are either illegal, violate their TOS or both!

Ebay seems to turn a blind eye to just about every violation of their TOS to collect their fees.

Additionally, they have the nerve to ask us, the users to police/report listing violations - that they do nothing about.

Each day, more & more companies appear on ebay. Every other item you search for, you have to wade through huge BIN deals before getting to the two or three items offered by regular people. Because of that, there isn't much of a savings. So many businesses are scared of actually listing an auction. There's no point anymore.

Near the top you can select "All Items", "Buy It Now" or "Auction Items" to eliminate much of the junk.

I know that. I'm talking about how 98% of ALL items listed in some categories come up as BIN. No way am I going to pay retail prices for things on ebay. So many companies refuse to list anything as an auction. Having only 2-3 actual items to bid on is really fustrating.

??? eBay owns Paypal, so why would they stop charging for CC payments when it makes them money.
