-Why did you pick it and what does it mean?
Aquila is Italian for Eagle. My grandfather nicknamed me Aquila because I can see/find things most people would miss at first glance (eagle-eyed).
76 is my birth year.

-How long have you been using it?
Aquila - About 25 years
Aquila76 - Since we got the 'net at my house, around '92.

-Do you use the same nickname on every forum you visit?
Try to. The name/number combo isn't used that much, surprisingly.

I've been very surprised by how available "Dolorous Dave" has been. You'd think that anything without a number next to it would be taken on the bigger forums.

I still play NFS4 today. Great game.

When I used to play Tribes, I though it would be funny to make a female player that was really skinny, had big boobs, but had a deep mans voice and name him Fritz.

Fritz was taken, so I used Fritzo.

That's it.

I idolize the drinking skills of homer and the writing skills of homer (ancient greek). Halloween episode with toga/greek homer where he refers to himself as homercles tied the two together nicely. Apparently many others feel the same hence the need for 337. I used to own a GTI 337.

I have been using homercles since the late 90s. Picked up the 337 in late 2002.

I use thse variants for forums, but a very different username for other sites.

It means "nickname." I've also used pseudosobriquet - false nickname - but that's just a bit much. It's easier than thinking of a clever name.

My nickname from my volunteer fire fighting days. I think this is the only place I use it. I used my original screen name here when i registered but I screwed up on the email addy and was locked out of it before making any posts.
