What does user rating do in Anandtech?

In the user profile. It appears kind of useless to me.

I suppose they had good intentions, but the only time anyone is rated is when someone is mad at them. Does anyone have a rating over 3?

nah i dont even know where the bulk of them came from....but most came immediately after i had posted the one complaining about my rating..although i guess my newest thread couldn't have hurt to bring it down

Yeah, a few of us do; mainly those of us that really don't care. 😛 Last time I checked, I was in the mid 6's, which is ok, I guess.

Hahah I enabled my user rating 1 hour after posting this thread. As of now, I already have 12 votes, all of them being one.
I just checked and I was laughing my @ss off after I saw that. I guess I didn't expect there to be people with time enough to care to give me ratings (read: loners with no life).
