What does this question mean? (on an employment application)

Yesterday, I interviewed for a job. They asked me to fill out a formal application and get it back to them as soon as possible. One of the questions is "Have you ever been bonded in prior employment? If yes, list names of employers." I have no idea what this question means - I've never heard the term bonded used in this way. It doesn't sound like a good thing to me.

Help!

I think it?s an horrific typo. It was probably meant to say: "Have you ever engaged in bondage during prior employment??

If you have been bonded, you would know, so just say no. It's kinda of an insurance. Ever hear the term 'Licensed, bonded, and insured"???

Its a typo with an extra 'd'... What they meant:
"Have you ever been boned in prior employment?"
