What does this error message mean?

When I insert the XP boot CD, all I get is the error message in DOS (during startup):
ATAPI CD-ROM:
No Emulation

This CD has worked in the past, never had a problem. If it matters, it's an Asus A7V600 mobo with the newest BIOS. I've tried different CD drives as well, same issue.

Are you loading XP? I believe what it means is that in order for XP to load using the CD ROM, you need an XP install disk that loads a small program that allows the CDROM to function. Try googling for XP startup disk.
