What does the Highlight option on my monitor do?

my monitor has a feature advertised as a "highlight zone", where it highlights an area of the screen. i was just wondering if this was useful for anything....
 
gopunk, which of your monitors has this feature? Perhaps it's a "zoom-type" utility.
 
I have the same thing on my monitor. Samsung 900NF. I've played with it a bit. All that I can see that it does is to make a small section stand out from the rest. I don't see myself using it at all, but you never know.

my samsung 955df. all it does is make a part really bright. maybe i could use it as a poor man's night vision in counterstrike?
