What does Office Findfast do? The program that starts at the start up.

It indexes your Office files (and maybe others too, dunno). Unless you do a lot of searches it's useless and will waste CPU time.

No, it's not important and it causes SEVERE performance problems. Every now and then it'll scan all your hard-drives and store the directory contents in an index so that searching for a file by name is faster than usual. For most people searching for files by name is done so rarely that the little performance gain is no-where near offsetting the HUGE performance loss during normal operation. Definately un-install FindFast.

It was written to slow down PCs that run old-school proggies too fast by sucking up extra processor time. Unless you're having problems hearing the notes in "LOOM" you might as well can it :)

Find Fast locates testicles and kicks the Sh!t out of them.

It used to try to run everytime I opened Visual Studio.
