What does OEM, barebone mean?

What does it mean when the product says that it's also available as an OEM, barebone? Say it is a video graphics card that comes as an OEM, does that mean its only the video card and no drivers CD, Y cables, misc adapters, etc?

I was thinking of buying a video card but I don't want the games it is bundled with. I just want the Video Card, it's VGA drivers CD, it's Y cable for extra power supply to the card, etc.

I researched OEM but it was nothing but a bunch of jargon.

OEM is original equipment manufacturer...so it comes from a company that builds pre-built machines. So..yeah an OEM video card would be the card itself and nothing else.

There are barebones systems..but I don't think that's what you mean...so..is that enough?

theres nothing wrong with oem if you have the other stuff. who needs a driver cd? there's always ati.com or nvidia.com.

Many OEM products will come with neccesary cables. What you will most likely not get is a fancy package, software extras (though these sometimes come too as the manufacturer has partnered with software companies to distrbute "lite" versions), or printed manuals. A quick look at NewEgg and I could not locate one OEM video card that did not include cables.

Where were you planning on buying this from? Link?

The hardware that comes without the fancy packages are sometimes called "whitebox" hardware (a.k.a. OEM) - because all the items that normally goes in the pre-printed packaging comes in...white boxes with just a description label
