I have a semi fast speed of 3.0 and a pretty fast computer. Is ther any way to make your webcam go a little faster instead of frame by frame. I have a pretty nice webcam.

Not sure but bandwidth has alot to do with it I think. For example dsl or cable modem will allow for better performance than 56k dial up. What kind of Internet hookup do you have? If you do have broadband then I would guess its something in your webcam software thats holding it back. Possibly a bad webcam but I'd look at the software first.

My connection is 3008kbps. Not too bad of a dsl connection if I might say so I don't believe it can be that. Is there some setting that I need to adjust on the firewall or what? I have a webcam pro 5000 from logitech. It is rated very good.

Your download speed is not what will affect the speed of transmission.

The upload speed will be the limiting factor.

You could overclock your webcam :p

Seriously, your upload will be MUCH slower than your download speed. Do a www.dslreports.com speed test and see what I mean.

You cannot make it go any faster than your internet connection will allow, and this is always affected by internet congestion and the other end of your video conversation affects this too. The other end's upload speed is in effect how fast you will see it on your end. If that person's upload is slow, your download will not in effect be any faster than their upload. Sure, you can get 3000Kbs, but that doesn't matter when the other end cannot send it any faster than 700Kbs.

yeah, depending on what your upload speed comes back as you might just try lowering the quality/size of the frames you're sending out.
