your not using anything on your PC..no programs turned on except for explorer and systray, and the mouse pointer is turniong from a pointer to an hourgalss?(like when you open a program) every 2 second it changes back and forth..sigh..im having so much trouble with winME this time..never had any before 🙁
 
maybe you've got a bunch of junk running in the background?

do a "msconfig" from run and then go to the 'startup' tab. uncheck EVERYTHING you don't need, and see if it runs better
