I have a button down shirt here, doesn't look girlish at all but the buttons are on the left side instead of right. And on the size tag it says UM for size i'm guessing? this is a girls shirt huh?

Drag Queen!!???:Q ;)

BTW: I just learned the other day WHY shirts are like that.

Comes from the days when the "Big Wigs" had servants dress them.

I guess women (or men I forget WHICH) were expected to dress themselves while the other sex was expected to be dressed.

It's not necesarily for women. A good taylor will ask whether you're leftie just for this purpose.

and thats why they're more expensive to dry clean. because of the buttons being on the other side, they don't work with most pressing machines so usually they have to be pressed by hand.

Reminds me of when I was a youngin' and was buying my own school clothes for the very first time. I wanted to buy a long-sleeved denim shirt. Found one that I liked at the Gap, tried it on for size, went to the cashier to pay for it... the guys says, "You are aware that this is a women's shirt, right?"

ummm left buttons, much easier to take off my wife....

if you ever want to frustrate yourself, have you wife or girlfriend put on one of your button shirts and then stand face to face with her and try to take the damn thing off... Grrrrrrr.

that's not necessarily true. buttons don't have anything to do with it. if the shirt is too small, it won't fit on a pressing machine and has to be done by hand....and thus more expensive.

Can I assume you can do the one handed bra unclasp and the big toe panty takedown too?

Um no, a lot of European clothes have the buttons on the opposite side. I personally have two shirts with buttons on the opposite side.

Why do people always insist that because somehow they manage to find one small exception to a general rule, then everyone else is wrong?

Fine, maybe you have a shirt made for a lefty or maybe it's a unisex shirt, but GENERALLY left-hand button shirts are reserved for women.

You're right, I should have ignorantly quoted him and mocked him for being a crossdresser, my mistake.
