WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN 256mb RAM IS 32X4??

thanks guys. just for that, ill tell you where to get your own stick of ram that is 256mb pc133 for just 73 dollars! go to pricewatch.com and find yourself some memory, its really cool! .....lol

I beleive it means 4 banks of 32 meg ram = 128 meg total ram on one side and 4 banks of 32 meg on the other side = 256 megs of ram.

It means you have 32 chips on the stick each at 4 Mbit...

...well no, that doesn't add up, because 32x4 is 128. I don't know what it means.

This describes the structure of the memory module. The first number is the depth of the module (or, the number of signals the module sends at one time). The second is the width (of the module's data bus). To get the total megabytes of the module, multiply the depth by the width and divide by 8 (or 9 for ECC or parity; if you're not sure if you have ECC/Parity divide the width by which ever one gives you an integer). For example, a 16M72 is 16 x 72 / 9 = 128MB.

I think I saw where you saw 32x4, if you above and below that listing you'll see 32X64. It's a typo, the listing you're looking at should say 32x64 also.
