Someone said hell is wihtout god? therefor no fire or brimstone? Are u saying hell is non-existence? then what is the difference going to heaven and living *Forever* in peace?
To me living forever would fit the definition of "Hell".
Weather a person believes in God or not, a christian may believe that God is with you 'knocking on the door of your heart' (Rev 3:20). Of course, if Christ is denied then the result may be a loss of that prescence in the hereafter, or going 'into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' (MT 8:12)
That's the funny part, so it says live by the ways shown in bible, but EVERYONE lives on their values and judgements derived from bible. Then how come ppl sin? everyday? and why did "GOD" create evil and bad things on earth? ahh to test us u say, but he is almighty god why does he need to test us little humans?
The same arguements given that god exists are such that by using similar ways of arguement u can say that the whole world is created by some smart scientist messing with your brain and all this is fake. since he is so smart he has total control of what u feel and see and taste and everything. See? u can't argue with that.... funny thing isnt it. take MetaPhysics if u are interested in it.
Yep, there are 613 do's and don'ts, everyone breaks them from time to time, some more often than others. Christ boiled it down to two rules to live by.. Love God, Love your brother, all the other rules are based on these two. (MT 22:37)
As for metaphysics, if it helps you follow those two rules, go for it
A great book giving their interpretation of Hell is Inferno by Niven and Pournelle. They follow Dante's trip through hell and add modern interpretations of it. I remember reading it as a kid and I still have images in my head from it. Just when I get ready to do something diabolical to my users I see visions of people frozen under the ice, in the burning lakes, or worse. So now I have a halo on my head all the time! :Q
A great read if you can find it (library).
I am 99% sure Hell is a myth, but I don't like to take any chances!
