What does everyone use as a Media Player replacement?

I just started using Ace DivX player 2.1 (which is completely free, and plays everything, don't know why they called it that). I first saw it in action at a friends. He was running Windows XP Peerweb edition, and it wouldn't let him use WMP. So he used Ace, and it worked great! I've been using it about a week now, and love it. It doesn't connect to the internet before running things. It loads huge movie files very quickly. The interface is simple and easy to use.

Just curious what other people use if they don't use Media Player?

I personally don't have too many complaints with WMP, so i use it quite a bit.

My main alternative is VLC (VideoLAN Client).
Two simple things i like about VLC:
- Hitting space bar = pause & then again = play.
- Ability to play .vob files (& pretty much everything else)

Windows Media Player for video and Winamp 5 free for audio. The sound output's the exact same (besides fade effects), it's just the interface is different. I like Winamp's equalizer more because it seems snappier for me for some reason.

MPC/VLC for video.

Don't really play much audio only, so WMP serves for that purpose.

How do I set it up so Ace player opens everything instead of WMP? I have it set for my files from the HD, but while online it still uses media player, which is just not as good anymore....
