Late 70's - early 80's. Lots of crap on the airwaves being drilled into your head like you needed to hear "Dust in the Wind" or "Staying Alive" again - ever.
I was listening to a Toronto station that played the widest variety of music I had ever heard. Elvis Costello, The Monks, The Sex-Pistols, The Pretenders, Squeeze, AC-DC, and things like that.
Then it hit me like a two by four across the forehead. It just reached right up, grabbed you by the ears and said "TAKE THAT!!". The melodic overtones of Lemmy himself and his band MOTORHEAD. The voice of 4 packs of smokes a day and chewing on fiberglass - music to my ears. Been hooked ever since. Wife says don't or can't understand it, that it is rather juvenile now, but I'm still a "Motorheader" none the less.
