What does error code 10050 mean?

I have a customer on my line that is getting "Transmission failed - Error code 10050" when he tries to ping any IP address. I thought that it may be a faulty NIC, but what do you guys think? I tried looking up information about this error code, but I couldn't find anything. Any ideas?

He has just replaced the NIC and it was not that.

gopunk, I didn't refer to Microsoft's site. That had some information that I didn't know before. Thanks!

bacillus, I already saw that site. It didn't really help me out though. Thanks for looking though. 🙂

I called him back and asked if he had a firewall and he said that he didn't. That shot the Microsoft idea down. I looked into the Winsock error codes and they said that it may be the protocol or NIC. I have already had him replace the NIC so I may call him back tomorrow and reinstall TCP/IP. That is the only thing that I can think of.

errggg :| I hate when I can't figure a simple little customer service problem!
