Does it just play the music from the DVD movie or does it play all audio tracks including the voices etc. from the DVD movie.

Some music is now shipping on DVDs rather than regular CDs, which allows for much higher quality sound. These are called DVD Audio.

The Audigy 2 is the only card which features software that can play DVD-Audio.

This has nothing to do with DVD Movies.

DVD audio has nothing to do with DVD movies. I think it differs from CDs in that it supports 5.1 speakers and the sounds quality is better (24bits instead of 16bits?)

DVD audio is basically enhanced multichannel PCM using MLP (meridian lossless packaging...or something like that)

Yep, and I just got my first few. They do sound better than standard CD's Some will allow you listen from the audience or with the performers. PS if you are wanting to hear the quality difference between cds and dvd-a you will need better than computer speakers.

Two channels of 24 bit 192kbps sound instead of cd's 16 bit 44.1 kbps sound.

Plus it can do other multi channel sound playback.

The big turnoff is that DVD Audio is decoded at the player and then sent out through the analog outputs. Your player must support DVD Audio and you'll need a receiver with multichannel analog inputs.
