What does "Drop Shipped" mean?

I just got an order confirmation for some things I bought online. One item shows a ship date of 4/29/04, and the other says "DROP SHIPPED".

What does that mean?

It means the shipper dropped it. It happens so often, they actually have a status for it.

It means it was shipped from a warehouse other than the vendor...

It means that the company you placed the order with does not have the item on hand and gets the manufactuerer of the item to ship it direct from the warehouse.

Common practise.

Either shipped from a company that your didn't order from (companies working together so that company #1 doesn't have to hold inventory), or you had if shipped to someone other than yourself.

It means they loaded up some drop ships with some reavers and "drop shipped" them into your mineral line! Get your probes outta there!

Actually, I found out today that it means "We passed your order on to the distributer, but it turns out they don't have it in stock and it'll be another 2 or 3 weeks. Would you like to upgrade?"

well dropship is a general term to farm out the fufillment to a 3rd part warehouse.

Newb! Firebats are more effective. 4 stimmed can take out an entire line in the time it takes for the reaver to do the initial scarab release.
