Oh yeah, and I don't think it's cathode ray tube. Doesn't make sense contextually.

I think CRT is referring to this software: http://www.customersatisfactionsurveysoftware.co.uk/

but not sure. Maybe someone in SCM field can give me some input?

Then how about giving us the whole fucking link to the job?

you give us some half assed info, ask what it's for... then tell us it doesnt make sense.

if you want help... give us the info to fucking help you.

if you go to a COMPUTER forum and ask what does RAM stand for... expect 900 responses saying Random Access Memory.

If you were looking for something else, you need to give the context.

dum-ass

I wonder if these "CRT" positions are actually using LCDs now? Would they change the term to "LCD" or just keep using "CRT" to describe the job?

If you don't know what CRT stands for, how do you apply for a job that asks for experience with it?

Have you ever found out the answer to this... this is on a job app. Have no idea what the CRT is.
THANKS!
PS> Wise butt responses not needed or welcomed thank you

Hi,

Welcome to AnandTech Forums. I locked the thread because the previous reply was almost five years ago.

Our members refer to such posts as "necro" posts, and some of them tend to post replies ranging from sarcastic to hostile, including possible accusations of spamming, whether warranted or not.

And to answer your question, CRT = Cathode Ray Tube (tube video display).

You are welcome to continue posting on our forums. Thanks for understanding. We hope you enjoy yourself on our forums. 🙂

4th result for "what does crt stand for"

Of course, the 2nd result gives you the answer without even clicking.

You bumped a 5 year old thread with your first post on these forums to determine the meaning of CRT instead of googling it?
In the context of the newbie's post I'm guessing that CRT is referring to some type of terminal operation (cash register terminal?), not an ancient monitor. Anne1024, just don't check the blank. If you don't know what CRT means, you probably don't have that experience.

CRT, obviously, stands for Corrupted Reticular Telemetry. It's a condition that arises in interplanetary navigation. But why are you bothering to ask? It's a job application. Everyone knows the answer is "Yes" on a job application. Even Teddy Roosevelt knew this. He was a great man. Shame about him getting lost on the Mars expedition. CRT again.

Anyone remember nixies? It was mesmerizing standing in front of racks of equipment with those number going in and out at you!

WTF... CRT's were becoming obsolete five years from now.

Today, they are e-waste. Nobody wants a 50 pound paperweight on their desk anymore.

What does "experience with CRTs" even mean, like you need to know how to fix them? lol

Mind you back in the days if your TV broke you'd actually bring it to get fixed. Is this some kind of electronics refurbishing store or something? Still find it odd though, you practically can't even give away a CRT these days let alone trying to fix one.

Cousin's husband (electronics engineer) had something like this (not sure of the specific model) during the mid 80s to rejuvenate CRTs.
It was cool to watch him restoring my colored TV to a like new condition.
