Pain just reminds you that you're still alive...right?
I was told: Pain Is Weakness Leaving The Body
Pain just reminds you that you're still alive...right?
I'm a firm believer in chiropractic.
Does it have its limitations? You betcha it does, and a GOOD chiropractor not only knows those limitations, but makes sure the patient also knows them.
Hell, the chiropractor I saw for years has referred me to a neurosurgeon, has told me, "You need a medical doctor for this. I can't help you.", on a couple of occasions. He's offered to provide physical therapy for the follow-up/rehab, IF the neuro recommended it, but never pushed.
I've had back problems for decades. The MD's want to push pain pills, but offered no real solutions. The chiropractic, while not actually healing the problem, were able to keep me mobile and working without surgery.
Time and hard work has taken its toll on my back. The last two neurosurgeons I saw have told me that they can't fix me with surgery. Too much damage on too many levels. Unfortunately, my current insurance coverage won't authorize chiropractic as pain management...so, since I refuse to take the "stupid pills," I live with the pain.

Is this where they go in with electrodes and shock the nerve into submission?I go in on the 9th to get some nerves deadened in my back. That supposed to provide pain relief for a year or two.
I believe the needle is heated. Is this where they go in with electrodes and shock the nerve into submission?
If so, a good friend had it done a few months back. Recommended it as a new technique when there is the next Inquisition. Or something new for your basement.
He got good relief for a short while. What's the term for it?I believe the needle is heated.
I use the shocking method with acupuncture needles and car batteries.
<snip>Its a bit of 2 and 3. The problem is, many chiros think the scope of their practice involves ADHD (whoops, I mean ADHD-like symptoms) treatment among other things that are very clearly beyond the scope of what they can treat.</snip>
All I remember is that mine has "rad" and "lumbar" in the name.He got good relief for a short while. What's the term for it?

Moose will probably know.
Interventional therapy can ease chronic pain by blocking nerve conduction between specific areas of the body and the brain. Approaches range from injections of local anesthetics, steroids, or narcotics into affected soft tissues, joints, or nerve roots to more complex nerve blocks and spinal cord stimulation. When extreme pain is involved, low doses of drugs may be administered by catheter directly into the spinal cord. Chronic use of steroid injections may lead to increased functional impairment.
Dunno, have seen some therapy where the nerve is modified using different techniques as well to physically alter the nerve.
Sorry you have that crap going on, current medical/surgical therapy is not good at treating chronic pain, we're getting a lot better, but there's a way to go yet...
The BEST part was the "cocktail" the doc put in the IV. A nice mix of fentanyl and versed. "Hey doc...make it a double!!"
LOL, I dose people up with that exact cocktail every day, we give morphine instead of the Fent frequently too
The best part is that the versed helps prevent memory formation, so that they may hurt a bit, but they don't remember it later.
Nah, I remember that they hurt...I just don't care because the end result is worth the minor pain.
Hell, if the doc would give me enough of the "cocktail," I wouldn't mind if he just removed the spine and fixed it on his workbench...
"Just keep em coming bartender!"
I'd prefer it if he used morphine instead of the fentanyl...I like the "taste" much better...but hell, if I don't have GOOD scotch...I'll drink Scoresby when it's all I have.![]()

so...you won't take "stupid pills", but you're all about being shot up with pain meds?
