What does a patent attorney do?

My cousin's son owns a law firm and said if I got my engineering degree and then went to law school I could work for him as a patent attorney, but I've never heard of one of these before, any information or is anyone on ATOT a patent attorney?

Intellectual Property (copyrights, patents, etc) lawyer. They defend the legality of people's intellectual property.

I plan on getting a CS degree and then going to law school. CS or Comp. E

also they write patents... have you ever read some of those... "we have an item... that item has this set of functions, and is called a computer. a specific funtion does this in specific. our product enhances that process in this vague, double negative-ridden way."
