What exactly does a part time deputy or sheriff do? It isnt normal field work such as issue tickets and such is it? Is it just office / clerical type work, or what?

They sit at a desk filling out forms & typing up reports. Then they go home at noon & take a nap.

Oh, on a typical day, they might book someone like Jacko, chase a speeding moped and, of course, make a canvass of the local Krispy Kreme. :D

Same stuff just doesn't work 40+ hours a week.

Drive half a car, around half the town, for half the time, while eating half the donuts, drinking half the cup of coffee, and only arresting half the criminals.
