If you know her pretty well then find a stuffed animal with meaning. I'm piss poor but got my g/f a $5 stuffed animal for her birthday at Wal-Mart and she LOVED it. Course, it had meaning behind it, but it worked.
 
K, im getting her a gift certificate to tower records.

i dont know what the hell type of music she likes, so she can go buy it herself 😀
