What does 20~52CFM mean?

I'm going to get the GC68 w/ Fan Choice heatsink @ SVC for $5.99. When I looked at the possible fans to buy along with it, I see:
20~52CFM Variable Speed Crystal Fan with Blue LED 3-pin.

Does that mean it can go any speed inbetween those speeds? And will it burn out if I make it go 52CFM the full time?

I think its a variable speed fan. It should have a built in thermal diode that'll make the fan spin faster or slower depending on your system temps.

CFM = Cubic Feet per Minute (as in the amount of air it pushes)

The higher the #, the more air it pushes (consequently the louder it typically gets as well)

It shouldnt burn out from using it at 52.5cfm, it was designed for it.

Check cases & cooling forum for more in depth answers though...

Heh, I know that. 😀 I just wanted to make sure if I was pushing it at it's max it wouldn't crap out after a month or so.

Might want to re-think your title then, "What does 20~52CFM mean?"

😀

Actually it can be controlled by telepathic communication. The telepathy enhancing foil hats are prohibitively expensive though, IMHO.
