What do your folks do for a living?

Hey - what do your mom and dad do for a living? (sorry for anyone who's folks may have passed on recently)

My Dad -
My dad has his own company - western refrigeration. He is a refrigerations engineer. He designs, assembles, and sells refrigeration equipment. not the wussy crap like air conditions and refrigerators. He makes machines that make 50,000lbs of ice in an hour. these machines are usually used by farm owners who pack their foods in ice. He also builds and installs refrigerations plants across the world, he's done work in Gana - africa, and he completely redesigned and rebuilt the ice and cooling units for the penguin exhibit at Sea World San Diego.

My Mom -
She is supervisor of membership development for best western international - the hotel chain. She evaluates applications and decides whether or not the hotel is qualified to become a best western and ultimately if they become a Best Western hotel or not.

Whatta bout you guys?

Father- Owns part of a family business. Does commercial refrigeration (resturaunts, schools, hostpitals, convinience stores, etc). They come to his bidness and say what they need, and gives him a floor plan. His guys decide what equipment fulfills their requirements, and re-draws the blueprints so that the stuff fits.

Mom-Assistant comptroller for a convienience store chain (pretty big, about 1200 stores I think)

dad:

-Owns and manages apartment buildings and rental houses

mom:

Mother: First grade teacher in Kansas city burbs. One of 3 teachers in Kansas to be nationally certified.

Stepfather: Nurse/administrative guy in a VA hostital in MO.

Father: Owns two busineses which employ...(3?) people. What he does it complex, but bascially when hospitals bill medicaid and medicare for reimbursement, the person doing the billing is making 5.15/hr and doesnt give two sh!ts where they are doing it correctly...after 5-10 years of this, a typical hospital has underbilled medicare/medicaid for 1-2 million dollars. What my father does is come into those hospitals, gather their data, run it through a $100K custom programmed software app, and it spits out what needs to be rebilled. My father gets 50% of whatever is recouped, anywhere from 100K-3 million per job. He can handle about 12-15 jobs concurrently and I think he does around 75-80 annually.

stepmother: CFO, VP, #2 person for the American college of surgeons, which is a professional organization comprised of all most surgeons in the country.

My mom was a grade school teacher (she's no longer with us) and my dad teaches English at a college near here.

Mom: Case Manager Specialist - other words one of those peeps that hand out welfare checks and food stamps. She tells me all these stories how people try to screw the system. I hate these dumb@ss people who are dead lazy. They deserve to starve. :|

Dad: Don't know him.

Me: One of those dead lazy peeps. 😀
