I don't know, my favorite Convertible is the M3 Convertible...
Have you driven a Boxster S? I would recommend it if you haven't.

I am a symmetry whore.
Don't know if you have only tried convertibles...but the Mustang convertible that I drove (older model though) was atrocious. The coupe was such a better vehicle overall. I'm anxious to drive a new Mustang with the 5.0 in it...hard to believe it could be anything other than thrilling.
Mustang convertibles are horrible, like most any car designed to be a hard top, with the top cut off as an afterthought.
If you want a great convertible, you're going to have to get something that was MADE to be a convertible from day one, or is ONLY a convertible. eg: Miata, Porsche Boxster, etc.
I'd say getting a coupe was the best mod I've done in a while; worlds apart, esp with weld in subframe connectors.
That car isn't just a coupe with the top cut off. The convertible Mustang is a factory car built with reinforcements to help make up for the lack of a hard top. That said, it is still much less rigid than the coupe. I agree on the subframe connectors though, I had them on my '94 and it made a big difference in overall stiffness of the chassis.
i drove a coupe back years ago and drove a convertible last year when i was looking for cars. like i said, its tires weren't inflated (visibly flat). it was used but appeared to be in otherwise good condition, the leather was well kept, etc.
i really like the mustang. love the way it looks. love the way it sounds. but i just get in one and it doesn't do anything for me. maybe i'm not using my right foot enough.

I like how your avatar is anything but symmetric
Nope, but MotorTrend just did a comparison and trashed the rest of the competition (Z, 370Z, TT S). I am sure the Boxster is sublime, but I can't stand Porsche styling. They made one good looking car, the Carrera GT, and that costed 1/2 a $million.
Anyway, I don't like soft top convertibles, only Hard tops. So it has to the M3 Vert.
What do you think of the Cayman? Imho they're the 2nd best looking Porsche (behind the Carrera GT), and you can get hardtops for the Boxster and Cayman![]()
