I used to, but not anymore. There's really no point unless you travel a lot or aren't at a desk all day.

Edit: I used it when I was in school to goof off during class and keep reminders for assignments. After I graduated there was no point in having one since I sit at a desk all day.

I don't have a laptop. Instead of a laptop that's a "desktop replacement" my Pocket PC serves as my "laptop replacement." I word process, listen to mp3's, watch movies, play games, go online, IM, use it as a VoIP phone, take notes, take lab data, use it for reference (dictionary, translating, etc). I actually don't use the PIM that much as I tend to remember the tasks I have, and I don't have too many dates to record :)

Deejayshakur, can you point me in the direction of a Chinese-English and/or vice-versa dictionary? Thanks!

I bought a Pocket PC early last year and I used it about two weeks and never touched it again. Kindof a waste of money.

I don't have a killer app for a PDA either. Perhaps as they will become Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy type of machines someday, but not useful enough for me to have one. I did use my old iPaq as an mp3 player in my car, w/ a 256 MB CF card.

wireless internet access, pocket Age of Empires (along with a variety of other games, but pocket AOE has by far the largest WOW factor), contacts, notes, memos, schedule, ebooks (quite convenient actually), plan on putting on a dictionary, potentially might do music on it (but I have an iPod handling that mainly), plan on doing the movie thing for long trips combined with a 4GB microdrive

I just upgraded to a Toshiba E750 from my Visor Edge. The gadget factor is definitely there. The visor functioned as a great basic PDA/basic game machine, but I wanted to try something new. The larger form factor is a bit hard to get used to, but I can live with it (the Edge still is one of the smallest PDAs ever made, once a case is factored in (the Edge had a built in metal screen protector negating the need for a case)). The color screen is a definite step up, but the battery life on these new devices is nowhere near the old devices life. I could get a month of spare usage on the Edge's rechargeable. I can get a day of decent usage out of the Toshiba (but the batteries are replaceable). Both of them are smooth little devices though!
