What do you use to rip DVD's?

I want to rip an entire DVD into a big DVD "image". What software should I use? I've heard of Vidomi and Guardian Knot so far.

Does DVD Decryptor actually rip a DVD into one big image though? I thought it split it up

I think the limit of FAT32 partition is what causes the DVD image file to be split up. The maximum file size on a FAT32 partition is 4gb, while the max file size on a NTFS volume is only limited to the size of the partition.

Since most DVD image rips are greater than 4gb, it's going to require more than 1 image file if it's on a FAT32 volume.

I'm using XP SP1a with NTFS. I got rid of FAT32 when I got rid of Windows ME.

it might be a sligh pain in the ass, but i don't see why you couldn't rip a DVD to a .iso or some such nonsense. even if you had to decrypt it first, reburn it, and then pull and iso. i don't know, i'm njust throwing ideas out here

yes, but you need nero installed, i think. im not 100% sure if it comes with the nero dll that is required.

I use DVD Decrypter for ripping... DVDshrink's ripping engine is not quite on par with DVD Decrypter, plus there are some known issues in the current 3.1x builds.

DVD Decrypter can rip in both 'File' or 'ISO' mode depending on your needs. I can tell you ::knocks on wood:: that Ive never had a ripping or burning issue with DVD D, and wholeheartedly recommend it over DVDshrink (for ripping) any day.

If you get Gordion Knot it comes with dvd decryptor and all the other tools you need to do whatever you want all rolled into one package.
