What do you guys use an IRC option? At the moment, I've got Opera, but it doesn't quite have the automatic functions that I'm looking for (such as auto login to user account after connect) - or I haven't looked hard enough.

Either way, I'm looking for a more functional IRC client, and I used to like mIRC, but it's changed too much since 4 years ago.

What are you guys using?

Take a look at X-Chat 2 for Windows http://www.silverex.info/features/ is free unlike the other X-Chat. I had it running for 1-2 months about a year ago. Is stable and easy to use. I did not know anything about irc before using X-Chat but was easy to set it up. If Pidgin has required functionality that is even better because you can dump IMs. X-Chat 2 actually looks/feels a bit like Pidgin, no nonsense and easy.

You could also try HydraIRC, but it hasn't been updated in a while.

I use Opera just because I rarely do IRC anymore, but back in the day I used mIRC the most. It had everything.

I use this as well, I don't know if it has all the features you are looking for since I am barely capable of getting into the IRC channels I want to get into to chat.

mIRC. It has been steadily worked on by Khaled for years now and it's one of the few apps that I've had for more than a decade and hasn't become an overbloated piece of crap.

Khaled posted some anti-Israel rant on this homepage one time if I remember correctly. No real surprise if your read the notes about where he's from, but it just turned me off and I stopped using it. Don't take political opinions where they don't need to be.
