I do think that the US is too big to govern effectively. I think it would be better served if we were divided up into various Commonwealths. One policy is not working across the board, especially when a bunch of hicks can derail the BHO's Socialist nation's agenda.

bigot

Americans are Americans. Glad we have a electoral college.

Ya thats a great setup for NY and california . They vote in the president based on pure BS . Make laws and still money for pork from yourselves instead of smaller better run states without those 2 states screwing everthing uo . Making law based on Sicko politics.

Of course... being of Irish extraction - mother, grand parents all born there - I always wanted to live out my life in Cork... I'm still not comfortable with Armagh... I did live there while on business back in '80 and '81 and loved it then...
But to your point... Give me an excuse to move there that I can convince my wife is enough to move from our palatial estate by the ocean and I'd be there in a minute... In the Pub everyone is everyone's equal... But in life where you never lock your door and the neighbor walks in with a loud bellow and a "How ya doing Shamus?" "How's the tea commin?" who cares about all the other realities of life... We'll get to it when we do but for now... did you see that hurling over in Kilkenny? 90 minutes of sheer madness....

Now that is life...

We don't want it unless your talking the indian land your still hanging onto against treaty.

MN would at least honor the treaty. After all the Sioux are native to MN . there welcome here more than the white trash from the dakotas

i had always assumed by your atrocious grammar, logic, formatting, and, well, everything, that you were from russia. I stand corrected.

The treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 gave us much more than California... Texas and west all came with it. But that aside, Manifest Destiny is a product of a strong central ambitious government. IT all by itself declared a race of people to be savages and justified the movement west.

I think we'd eventually have migrated west in time but under much different conditions... Not sure what the gold or silver rush might have been like but that didn't happen so we is stuck with history and what that brings tomorrow...

Close but no cigar . Poland. But I have always liked Russian history alot. i wouldn't mind living there not so long as they NOT revert back to the Marx BS lie.

There is great opertunity there If allowed to be exploited . Russia needs to open its terratory. Do a land grab thing like Oklahoma did . Russia needs a wildwest

But alas they seem to be regressing bad bad bad .

Russia needs better weather.

But they have all the other intrigue just like the good ole US of A...

Russia needs rid of the ruble it sounds funny... use the Euro

But they have the second most number of billionaires and about 7% unemployed...

Russia has too many time zones... wake up at noon and call mom on the coast and she just went to sleep... 10 are way too many...

But they do have Oil, Gas, Gold and all that good stuff so we should plan to inv... Invite them to tea.

The only thing Russia lacks is... Well,, Me..

It is a tricky question. I think much of the benefits of having separate states has been negated by things such as the interstate commerce clause, which has allowed the federal government to effectively control everything now that effectively all goods cross state borders.

Once upon a time "... One nation under GoD ..." had a meaning that had been distorted... The founders and the folks who issued the Pledge of Allegiance had the incredible foresight to know that in this century and last 'GoD' would come to be understood as an acronym for Gop or Dem

Today we are one nation and not 50 States currently under the 'D' bit...
If the Alabamians want to have a monument depicting the Ten Commandments at a court house why can't they? IF that offends some folks they can move to California or deal with it there.

It is simply amazing that folks can take issue with such trivial things. I'm not at all bothered by Ghosts and Goblins marching about on the feast of Samhain...
