gah, good thing i taped it instead of watching it live, just skipped to the end. sh*ttiest twist ever. i think they created this to give her a escape hatch😛 one guys a dork, and the pretty boy is a loser... bah. became predictable once it became obvious they wouldn't release the secret until after she chose, and who she chose. if she were terminally ill or a hermaphrodite or something horrible she'd pick the nice guy...😛

Larissa got rejected. And I too agree with you. If looks were the reason Brian wasn't chosen, and the reason why Gil was chosen, I can understand why Gil would have been as mad as he was. Gil felt like he was chosen based on looks.

I don't agree with this. I think she played the game very well. The point was to eliminate the ones who had flaws - physical, then beyond physical. At least that's how she played it and should've played it. With the better guys, she said how she really enjoyed their (Fredo/Tony) company but she never said anything about wanting to be with them or seeing a future with them. In the end, she never even said it to Brian. All she actually committed to was that they were great people to be around and it makes her decision tough. She kept reiterating how genuine a lot of the guys were - and it opened her eyes. Even the final reason she got rid of Brian was that she couldn't "return the love", as hard and as far as she took him (in the game). The Fredo incident was crap. She kissed every other guy also - from her perspective, what makes him so special that he couldn't take it ? Cause the writers made him watch ?

So what it came down to was that the beauty queen took the hunk, even though he wasn't all that great himself, but she was "willing to take that chance" - her words... and see how far that would develop (oh the irony, in the writing). Regardless... I don't think she was two-faced at all...
 
or..she didn't like a single one and was just trying to get out of it, but still get her paycheck, gotta play along and not look mean in the process. i mean seriously..she can do better. mr average joe would have definetly brushed away that fabio thing. getting rid of pretty boy with fabio and not looking like a mean girl... well easy i guess.

you have to remember she didn't sign up for "average joe", probably was just told it was a dating show. she's probably getting paid to be in it, so she soldiered her way through the pain...
 
was it me or did the guy she chose have a speech impediment.

both guys spoke awkwardly but at least the guy that was rejected knew how to communicate, the guy she chose stuttered

now that we have that cleared up...these girls always make it seem like they are attracted to the average guy, but really that are big douchebags and pick the hotter guy. why? well, no one really knows, but IMO, they cant be less superficial, so they cant imagine themselves with just an average looking guy. regardless of how much nicer he is, the average guy will probably end up getting screwed. how about the last show with the model guy who lived with his parents and still wasnt done with college at age 26, and then the average guy who was WAY funnier, had a personality, and was not focused on money even though he had a fortune (literally). the model guy was a total POS and said to her "lets drink to loosen our inhibitions" at dinner. even she commented on that, but still, at the end of the show, she picked the model even though in every episode she had a better time with the average guy.

a) these shows are probably completely scripted

or

b) the girls they pick are f'in BEEEYATCHS

im thinking its a combo

I think that last night proved that an Average Joe has virtually no shot at "winning" this show. I don't think there's anything Brian could have done any better. He was funny, open, sincere, and really into Larissa - basically, unlike Gil, he was everything she claimed she was looking for, personality-wise. In the end she was just not attracted to him. I don't blame her because (let's face it) physical attraction is very important in a relationship. Plus, I think I once read that it's human nature to seek out someone that is approximately as attractive as you are. If Brian was even moderately good-looking she probably would have picked him.

You just gotta feel bad for Brian... I don't think she led him on, but he really never had a chance of "winning".

I didn't watch the whole show, but caught bits and pieces while the wife was watching. First off, wtf was the deal with the submarine? They take one of the geeks, don't tell him what is going on, put him in a freakin submarine, take him to the island the girl and model guy are at, and tell him to look at them frolicking in the waves. He freaks out and goes home. Does this make any sense to ANYONE? NO! At least when they gave the house guests a giant ACME Wyle E Coyote plunger connected to explosives on a boat, it was stupid but made some sense because it would cause tension in the house. The submarine? I defy anyone to eplaine that stupidity.

As for the final show, if anyone thought the girl was going to pick a geek over a model guy, go get your head examined. This girl is beautiful, and has been her whole life. She has gotten everything she has ever wanted without asking. Did anyone actually think she would be seen in public with geek boy when she could be seen with model boy? It makes absolutley no difference which one was the better person, it all comes down to looks. Same thing happened on the last show, the geek was the perfect person for the girl, she picks the idiot model looking guy who lives at home with mommy and daddy. I think it is funny as hell that the idiot model guy in this show dumped her, it's probably the first time in her life that she has been rejected. As for him, it's probably the first time the previous boyfriend was better looking than him and he couldn't handle it. How funny!

Only thing is, they're apparently still together (see NFS4's post about the Today show above).
 
I beg to differ that it was all based on looks. When it really comes down to it..girls want MYSTERY. the AJ was way too into her..said he loves her too fast...and threw himself at her. Most girls want the chase..and don't want something that is given to them so easily. Noone wants someone who is desperate 😛
