What do you think of Virginia Tech overall?

What do you think of their academic reputation, of their big sports programs (football and basketball), of their size, of their government, basically anything. Would you put them in the top 10% of all universities?

Top 10%? That's probably pushing a bit. Top 20% for sure.

Of course I'm an FSU grad so my opinion will mean nothing here :)

I mean Va Tech consistently sells out their football games, so they have a very passionate bunch of students and alumni. They sell out basketball games too. That has to count for something.

depends on what your looking for.

VT engineering program is top and its business school is top too. not top 10.
the girls are good looking too. 60-40 spilt too.

baseketball games really dont sell sell out. football games do though.

i just graduated from there. very good school.

anything else you want to know?

yes we have a super computer too.

Pamplin's undergraduate program is ranked in the nation's 50 best business schools by U.S. News & World Report. Pamplin ranks 38th overall (which puts it in the top 10 percent of the approximately 400 U.S. undergraduate programs accredited by the AACSB International), 18th in the management information systems specialty, and 23rd amonth the public institutions. In the Financial Times rankings of the world's top 100 graduate business schools, Pamplin's MBA program is ranked 63rd overall and 43rd among U.S. universities. The program ranked 2nd among U.S. schools in the "aims achieved by MBA alumni" category and 6th in "value for money".

"America's Best Colleges 2005" survey released by U.S. News & World Report in August 2004 ranks the Virginia Tech College of Engineering's undergraduate program 19th in the nation among all accredited engineering schools that offer doctorates, and among the top 10 at public universities. The Virginia Tech engineering college shares the 19th spot with Rice University and the University of Minnesota. The individual college rankings are based on assessments by deans and senior faculty at peer institutions. Seven of the College's undergraduates engineering programs were ranked among the top 25 in the nation.

The magazine's "America's Best Graduate Schools 2005" survey, released in April 2004, ranked the College's graduate program 32nd. The College was rated 16th in the nation by engineering school deans, up from 19th a year ago, and the deans ranked seven of the College's graduate programs among the top 26 in their fields
