What do you think of Time Warner as a cable provider in NYC?

JEDI

Lifer
parents live in Brooklyn, NY.

parents bought a flatscreen TV. they didnt realize that their current Direct TV box doesnt do HD.

to upgrade to HD costs $10 more a month.

that's the only TV that does hd. they have 3 other tv's that are regular. (bedroom, kitchen, basement)

they have verizon for phone, and internet. ($14.99/month dsl)

They are thinking of switching to Time Warner cable since there's no additional costs for a
HD box.

Anyone use them?

I don't hear of any good about Time Warner though... Besides from above poster.

I had TIme Warner previously before we moved to our current residence. I had always thought that their prices were inflated. Well after moving here we signed on with the only cable provider here which has a monopoly within tiwn limits. It's called comporium. While I can't complain about the service, the prices are much worse than what Time Warner was charging us.

I know we will pay more with a locally owned company, but Time Warner isn't too bad. Whenever we had an issue they were easy to contact and quick to come out and resolve any issues.

i've only read bad reviews of time warner. probably because only people with bad experiences can be bothered to write something about them.

Yep........I have their Cable Internet and it's fine. Haven't had any big issues except the occasional slow-down and outage. I know they are being sued by the City of Los Angeles cus TWC is the exclusive cable provider there and they failed to live up to the aggrements in the contract but that's probably just an area thing over here.

Most of Brooklyn is served by Cablevision. Only a small part is served by Time Warner. From what I hear, speeds are not too good during peak time.
