What do you think of this site layout?

It burned my eyes out. But seriously. . .

Looks pretty cookie cutter word press style but thats my 2 cents. Nothing wrong with that by any means though :beer:

Good:
reads easy
fits pretty well into my little mini window I have going
All the BS crap is to the right side which I like IMO

Bad:
No tits or women of any kind.
No GM - failboat pics
 
Right column is too width, and like dbk said the blue kinda jumps out a bit too much.

Other than that, I think it looks pretty nice.

technically, the blue should also have a photo in it, but they are all down right now... the right column is a bit wide, but im not sure how i can alter it due to the theme, i havent looked into how everything is setup though yet...
 
Gotta say, I like it a lot. The colours are bold but not offensive. The layout doesn't waste a lot of space, there is plenty of content and it's obvious which bits are important. I give it 4/5 stars.
 
I like it a lot. Very nice job. The only complaint I have is with the top navigation bar... it just doesn't feel right to me.
 
I personally can't stand the centered aspect of it. I'd make it scale to the screen. On a widescreen display I get pretty big grey bars on the sides and I can't stand those. Everything else is fine.
 
Too cluttered except for the "menu" on the left. If I didn't scroll down, I'd never have known there was a menu at all. I'm running 1152x864. Site navigation needs to be at the top and a bit more condensed than it is now. You should be able to see all relevant navigation in a 1024x768 resolution without scrolling.

HUH? i can see everything i could possibly need immediately when i load the page... navigation, subscribe, etc... and im a macbook...

all the pages, categories are at the top... meta and blogroll i can put where i want but i dont need blogroll to be visible to everyone.

Why are they listed on the right if they're already at the top? Goes back to my cluttered comment. That whole right-side menu needs to just go away 🙂
 
i think the colors & layout are good. i think it would help to have images to go with the headlines
on the left. also, for menu's to pop up from the links on the right, if appropriate to the navigation.

it's wierd having the navbar on the right, but ... what the heck ! still looks good.
 
okay, i gotta get some images loaded back up... i havent messed with this site in a few months, so it does have old content... i need to figure out some other things, but i know the general layout seems to be good
 
I think its pretty good, except I'd say there's extra stuff you don't need:
- the four white boxes on the right
- the blank and about boxes on the bottom. You can move the about to the right column
- too many boxes on the right - you can drop the Meta, Blogroll, etc.
- use a regular tag cloud. the flash one doesn't fit in its box.
- header could be smaller
- I don't get the point of the huge blue slider at the top. Its just repeating stuff found bit below that.

I used Firebug to remove those elements and I liked the result. Also, PS a new logo. The style is nice, but put Detroit Bailout instead of the Epsilon.

ive been working on it... yes the site is live, but i get no outside traffic yet...

those four boxes are for ads, which i will remove when i figure out how...
i removed the bottom about me
i added some images
the repeating problem is the fact that i dont have enough articles for it to not repeat... there should be some images in there as well...
I have to look at the cloud.
i will change the logo, its the least of my worries so far, want to get everything laid out, and then do the logo...

what about the newish look to it?
 
big blue bar takes up a whole 50% of my screen but then its only 10 inches.. otherwise, just looks like a generic blog
