i have an old 17" CRT monitor from 9 years ago that i guess i can use because i dont have any other choice:| so ya any suggestions about the build would be much appreciated

go for the amd 3000+ venice, get a dvd burner, i'd recommend an lcd monitor, because they are fairly cheap nowadays. it'd be worth 🙂, especially because ur old monitor is 9 years old lol. i think the mobo is a good budget mobo, try for the EPoX EP-9NPA+Ultra.

check out some of the top selling stuff at newegg.

i was just going to wait a few months and get an LCD and the old monitor isnt that bad it has a max rez of 1280x1024 at 60Hz but the 60Hz doesnt hurt my eyes so alls good for now

You can get a really good used CRT for less than 100 bucks. Check on ebay and your local craigslist.

I'd go down to a 3000 venice, get a NEC 3540a dvdrw, and switch the mobo to the EPOX 9NPA+

Not really familiar with that PowerSupply, make sure you read up on it before buying

If you are looking to save money, you might consider switching to an ATI x800xl card. It's pretty close to the speed of the 6800GT and is about $100 cheaper

Also, if you looking for a good LCD monitor for gaming that won't break the bank check out the Hyundai L90d
