That's not bad, but I would ditch the IBM hard drive and get something a little less prone to failure, like a Maxtor. Both of my 60GXPs died after 2 months, within 7 days of each other.

Looks nice. Yeah, ditch the 60gxp, and get a WD or Maxtor. Make sure you get a good HSF combo.

I would skip the Athlon XP 1800+ and go for the 1700+... the difference in price is about $50, but the difference in going from 1.47Ghz to 1.53Ghz will NOT be noticable.

agreed.

the top end of hardware always commands a price difference that is not worth its performance advantage.

I say ditch the Audigy X-Gamer 5.1 and go with a Philips Accoustic Edge or Hercules Fortissimo 2 (or Game Theater XP). SB = crap for driver support under win2k or winxp.

I would drop back to the 1700+ CPU because you save $50 and performance difference is small.
Thermalright SK-6 for CPU HSF
Hercules Game Theater XP - OEM for $99 shipped at Newegg.com
Get the GF3 Ti200 for the less $$$
Get Lite-On 24X instead of Plextor 16X
Get Seagate 60GB instead of IBM.
Just my $0.02
