[UPDATE]
I just asked straight-up after listening to his marketing talk for almost 10 years.
Me: Will this involve cold-calling?
This guy took literally about 7 mins to answer that question. Fumbling for fancy descriptions and boasting their 'extensive training and screening process' He finally said:

Yes jEct2, this position...uh.. requires "value-adding sales base skills" by cold-calling.. (DING DING DING) You really need the right kind of tenacity and self-starter mindset, blah blah, blah blah blah...

I thanked him for his interest and told him that I basically suck at cold-calling. (Instead of being an ahole by telling him this positions sucks donkey balls.)

*sigh* job search is so hard... to all graduating college seniors..

Hey, that means you should be right in there with the marketing-speak. When you talk to the guy, let him know you're the expert: You drill down, developing the synergy, focusing on the core competencies, energizing corporate potential to produce and sell best-of-breed competitive solutions. You're not afraid to think outside the box, to take it to the next level, to maximize ROI!

Actually, I know this type of job. Not exactly, but similar I think. It's a marketing position in a technical field. Most likely you'll be assisting current product distributors and looking for new ones. This means you'll be keeping them updated on the product line and probably working on specific project oriented deals with them. You'll most likely also will be involved in getting the products specified in construction planning and meeting with engineers and contractors to work on the specifications and then bidding on projects either directly or through your distributors.

Sadly, it was just another case of a glamor job description, sugar-coating a cold-calling sales position.

Gimme your number and I'll show you. They're those plagues that call you and interrupt your dinner with their sales pitch.

'Cold' refers to unintiated as opposed to 'warm/hot' means ppl are EXPECTING your call.

It means telemarketing.
