Take a look

If this is in the wrong topic, please lock/move. I'm just looking around for a serious computer, and wonder what you think of this one. I have not purchased it yet, nor am I affiliated with the seller. I'm just curious about the options it has, and its price. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

building it would be cheaper. Also, I would get an Athlon 64 for that price. The prescott in that computer is just overclocked. The AMD equivelant would beat it handily. But, like I said, I would build my own machine for cheaper.

I agree with yankeesfan on the building part, disagree with his name. Building will be cheaper, more rewarding, and you wouldn't have to waste money on 500 gigs of storage space. What the hell is that for? Just get a pair of raptors and raid them, it'll be way faster and have plenty of space (unless you're needing that amount, obviously). I mean, the computer is nice, but it's not perfect, I'd rather have AMD in there and reduce the price by building it.

...and hoping the Sox will kick the Yankees ass. BLAH.

Well I wouldn't quite go for the raptors, the speed increase isn't that great. Go for the Athlon 64 and depending on which games you want to play the most, get either a 6800 or x800. I for one am going to be playing Half Life 2, so the x800 is my next step.

Not worth it, and most likely a generic power supply that won't last long. And if they are using the retail heatsink with that 3.6ghz overclocked CPU, it will likely having overheating issues. Plus it doesn't come with the OS unless you pay an extra $150.

With Pedro and Schilling going, I saw we break out the brooms. :) back to the topic, its a nice computer, but i think half the fun is building it yourself.
