These are Canadian prices but I was wondering what people thought of this as an inexpensive setup.

It all looks great, good job picking it out. I personally dont like that case but picking out a case is mostly personal opinion.

Well, the Antec SLK3000B has two 120mm fans instead of one 120mm and one 80mm fan but it looks kind of bland in my opinion. It really took me a while "to get it". I mean, I've heard some of those names before but didn't realize the value compared to other products until I read enough reviews or comments from other users.

The only thing that bothers me is that it doesn't matter which brand of PSU you choose to research. You can find negative comments on every brand you can name.

What processor is that for?

I like the setup, for a hot processor with overclock you may consider stepping up to the Zalman 9500. The 7000 should treat you well though if you don't want to spend the money.

Also, some will probably suggest AS5 instead of Ceramique, I just use whichever I can find.

It's for a socket 754 3700+. Dont' know how hot it gets but I have no intention of overclocking it. Now there's only a few good deals for the 3700+ like on eBay or newegg. It seems like the price/performance comparisons change every week so that's why I didn't mention it was a 3700+.
Anyway, I don't want to overclock. So, the 7000 should be good for me sound-wise.

I read on General Hardware that one guy ruined a couple of CPUs in a row when trying to take off a heatsink that had been put on with AS5. Seems like there are fewer horror stories with Ceramique. Plus, they say you won't void your warrantee on a chipset with that so there must be a reason why.

You can save some money by stepping down to the very similar 400w fortron unit. The need for high output psu's is radically overstated at the present time, particularly when the subject is a Fortron... They're conservatively rated, and have a much higher peak output than their continuous rated output...

Might want to be sure to use an AMD approved tim, like these-

Looks good but I'd stay away from that cheap 30,000hr junk Nexus and get Nexus killer..

http://www.coolermaster-europe.com/inde...tle=+AAF-B12-E1+Aluminum%20Fan%20120mm

Read forums at SPCR they'll tell you it's quieter and moves more air and it's rated 100K hr plus it's built like a tank to withstand heat which is bane of fans....

I mean the nexus should cost $2 since that's what these YateLoons cost wholesale cheap sleeve bering, cheap all around... but I guess a sucker is born every minute.

Really??? I thought silentpcreview said that the Fortron 500 watt is really 461 watts. Pretty weird eh?
I just thought I?d get that anyway since graphic cards in 2 or 3 years may be huge power drains. I estimate I?ll only be using up to 350 watts.

BTW, I did read that link on the TIM but it also links to an AMD document that is from 2003.

Thanks for pointing out there are different models. I?ll have to check that out. However, the thing is, I chose those Nexus fans partly because I was also looking at Canadian web sites. Oh well, I?ll look things up when I have the time.
