What Do You Think Of This Car? #5

Cadillac XLR

This car is a Corvette, with the luxuries of a Cadillac, restyled for the new "Art & Science" design philosophy (see Cadillac CTS). It's rumored to have a 300+ HP, V8 engine. If they can sell it for under $50,000, I think it'll totally blow away those Mercedes SLK's you see all over the place, which seems to be the obvious engineering target. Not that I can afford either one...

What I can't figure out is why GM didn't do something like this sooner. GM invented rebranding. They've rebranded every other model they have 7 times over. A Corvette to Cadillac rebrand should have been obvious. Oh well, I'm just glad they've done it now 🙂

I hate that new "edge" styling. Like the new Mustang and the new GM pickups...just ugly. No style. A completely forgettable look. I'd take that old Cadillac from the new commercial they have.

Old caddies are still the bomb, one guy at Bandimere shows up with one about as long as my truck 😉 anyway it's got a 501 under the hood, he runs 15's @ 5800ft..... Talk about a sleeper. Plus the only thing you fear in those things is Trains, 😀

"Dood. If it's not a Honda Civic, it's not a car, OK?"

Since the response here has been negative, that this proof positive that the Cadillac XLR will be a big hit in the real world 😀

Here's a video.

Seriously though, if this car doesn't make you excited, you may want to check your pulse, because you could dead. Cheers.

It is not bad looking to me. But I think if they rounded some of the square edges and added some smoother lines, it would have looked alot better. As it is, it looks squarish, and not smooth, and has very little flow to the lines of the car.
